Paper Mache Spider and Jack-o-lantern

Let your creativity go wild creating these Halloween favorites. This workshop, led by Carla, will delve into the art of paper mache as you learn about armatures and the technique of using paper clay to sculpt. During the workshop you will be making one Itsy Bitsy Spider and one small Jack-o-lantern. Don’t like my combination of creations? Switch it up to two Spiders or two Jack-o-lanterns or keep things simple and create two Fall Pumpkins.

Because this project requires an extended drying time (sometimes a week or so), you will create most of the project in the workshop, be sent home with a little additional clay for extra details and then return for an included Finishing Day to paint and seal your creation. You will find this Finishing Day on the calendar.

Carla Binder, born and raised in Palmerton, PA, has been passionate about creating since she was a child. There was always a project in the works. Her career began in the fields of architectural drafting and interior design and continued on into professional picture framing. Since 2019 she is continuing her journey as a creative, establishing her art and design studio Taking Deeper Roots. Her vision is to inspire you to explore your creative passions.

Tools and supplies to create one spider and one jack-o-lantern are provided.
Skill level: No experience needed, this workshop is suitable for beginners.

This workshop will be held on the Garden Patio so dress appropriately for the weather.If it becomes too cold, wet, or windy the workshop will be moved inside to the Creative Nook behind the shop.

Registration is required, maximum of 6 people. Participants must be age 16+.

No refunds will be issued for no shows or for cancellations less than 72 hours in advance.
